replacing fuel pump-what else needs changing?
replacing fuel pump-what else needs changing?
Well I've decided to go ahead and replace my fuel pump (after investigating all the other possibilities). What else should I order at the auto parts to be replaced at the same time? Is there a sock/filter, seal/gasket, or anything else?

Yes, replace the sock.
The o-ring will come with the new pump.
Do yourself a favor and buy a GM part. I've seen aftermarkets fail within a year. I'm not saying they will fail, but I've had better luck with OEM parts.

Yeah, don't scrimp on the pump. It's not something you want to do more times than necessary. I replaced the tank itself in my 89. The 92 tanks have a better designed plastic sump to prevent starvation in sharp cornering when low on fuel. $30 from a yard.

Engine boy is right. Get OEM pump. Do not get it from a "YARD". Buy it new and also get a new fuel filter and clean out the gas tank.
