Engine GURU's please read...
My car started missing the other day. The car runs fine in higher RPM's, but when I'm putting around it misses. When I hold it at 2 grand it misses. I took it in and had the computer hooked up to it and they fixed a relay and this other sensor, but it still misses. I put in new plugs in, but didn't gap them. I also put in a colder plugs because of my NOS. The tech said that if it was the wires or plugs it would of showed up on the computer. I don't know if I should buy the right plugs, wires, and rotor and see if that takes care of it. I'm not for sure what it could be??? Please help me, thanks.

GTA,
Been there. I have had the same problem with my '86 after only 22,000 miles. I chased around the ignition, fuel filters, checked for bent pushrods, vacuum readings, compression tests, several kinds of ingnition modules, distributor caps, rotors, a different PROM, FPR, etc.
I finally did a power balance test with the fuel injectors and found two of them that made almost no difference until I manually actuated them with a jumper setup.
I sent my injectors to Cruzin' Performance for cleaning and flow-matching, and everything has been fine ever since. It was like I had a new engine. Needless to say, I was pleased to have my car back and to have found the elusive problem.
Incidentally, this was after I had the fuel rail and injectors "flushed" at the dealership with the pressurized cleaning system.
You might want to try the test yourself.
