what would make my car unstable at high speeds???

i was going fast yesterday like 65-70 and my car was hard to keep under control. it felt like it was hard to keep strait and didn't feel tight like it usually is. also i have a feeling this has to do with the clunking sound that is under my car when i go on bumpy roads.any one have any ideas? also struts are like a year old. could it be balljoints or tierods? what are the symptons of both when they need to be replaced?

I understand that the idler arm is a "weak link" in f-bodies. Get underneath the car and wiggle all the steering components. Then you'll find the loose culprit. No pun intended....LOL

An idler arm will allow the drag link to move left/right to turn the wheels. If the drag link can be moved up/down excessively, this is a bad idler arm.

How about bad balance on tires, or just bad tires?? It could be a lot of things. Good luck man.
