Yesterday I went to start my car and it just kept cranking even when I took the key out. Luckily I was at home and was able to get some tools to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. I was ready to replace the ignition switch until i did a search on this board with my symptoms. Sure enough someone else had the same problem and it turned out to be the starter. So I looked at it and found that was still stuck in the engaged position. Then I needed to find out how to get it out and found a another post with detailed instructions including a tip that said to pull the solenoid off first then pull it out. You guys really saved me a lot of headaches, I was able to replace the broken starter myself so hopefully by posting this it will help some one else.
