Problem w/ LPE 219 cam and stock distributor
Anyone have a problem making this work or is it us? The dist. just doesn't seem to go down all the way. Is a diff. gear needed w/ this cam?

I've never used an LPE cam but I would assume that the gear would be exactly the same.. have you tried moving the oil pump shaft around with a screwdriver to line it up correctly? Maybe put the dist. in another way?

I agree it sounds like you arent getting the oil pump driveshaft inline with the distributor.
I had to pull mine out a cople times to get it too work. You may have to take a long screw driver and turn the pump shaft till it lines up.

LPE cams are no different from any others in that regard. Your oil pump isn't lined up; pull the dist and turn it a little, and keep doing that until the dist drops in.
