air con
Hi to all message board users for the first time. I am about to buy a 91 Camaro from an old friend Andy Fanshawe (and I do mean old!). We tested the AC system and everything was fine, no leaks, compressor working etc. Got it regassed after
years!!!. During a long run, found green oil dripping from underneath the system
. Any ideas where it is coming from i.e. seal, gasket? and can it be fixed cheaply and quickly?

That sounds like the oil that they put in the a\c for the compresser. Can you see exactly where the oil is coming from because it could be leaking from alot of different places on the system

Thank for your quick response
.
The compressor will be taken off early next week to check the underside. The oil maybe coming from a seal at front and then being blown back underneath the system. Will let you know when it comes off.

Anyone in UK got a working compressor for sale to replace one shown (1743)?

Air conditioner? You need air conditioning? I'll wager it hasn't even hit 40° yet. You do realize the side widnows are designed to lower and rise, right?
Actually, that compressor was used on millions of GM cars and trucks for many years. Finding a replacement shouldn't be too difficult. It will likely be harder to find a good refrigerant.
Didn't this just post on the Euro-Board about a week ago?
Incidentally, Welcome Aboard!
