proper routing of alternator power wire

I moved my battery to the trunk and i have the power wire off my alternator running all the way to the back of the car, and then have a place near the battery that i have the wire attached so it charges the batter. Problem being i find that it doesnt charge it all that well. How can i properly splice the alternator power wire into the main battery power wire near the starter?

I wouldn't splice into that wire for the battery. I would either try a larger wire going from the alternator to the battery or look for a loose connection. Might even see what the resistance in the wire is but I doubt thats the problem. Just some ideas, hope it helps

Hook it up from the big post on the alt, to the terminal where the battery cable goes on the starter. Use about #8 wire. Don't splice anything, just put it on that same terminal with a ring connector.
