i timed my car's 0-60 from idle to 60 it took 6.5 seconds. Is this good should it be better? I have 416 heads on a 79 350. I have a street dominator intake, edelbrock 1405, comp 270 h-10. I seemed to have lost some low torque from the old camshaft, but it seems to rev a lot faster. I figure if I got the engine into the cams power band by doing a power brake up until around 1800 rpms I could improve that time. I have the stock rear end, but I'm not sure what the ratio is.

It is very common for a higher lift, longer duration cam profile to cause an engine to lose lower RPM torque, but gain higher RPM torque (peak HP). A more slack torque converter, higher ratio gearing, or higher speed operation will get the engine into the RPM range that the cam profile supports best.
