my car has had a bad idle for a while, i just changed the fuel pum, and now it wont start... my car has fine fuel pressure, and i know the pump is working fine... i was looking around and i found that what i believe is the MAF burn off relay is all burnt, and the wires that go into it are all melted and crap. could this be why the car wont start up??? it cranks fine, but just wont fire up, the computer is not allowing the injectors to fire... could this be why??? thanks!!

 

Yes, that will certainly have an effect on the starting and operation. What are (were) the wire colors on the relay connector? That will help identify the relay and its use.

 

green withe a white stripe, solid red, solid orange, tan with a white stripe, and black with a white stripe. these are all the wires going into the unit.

 

That sounds like the fuel pump relay:

 

nah, it doesnt look like a regular relay.... its rectangular in shape instead of oval and its not orange
