Need a cam suggestion
I am building a SuperRammed 406. I've listed the setup here before, but I'm
gonna do it again:
400 Block, .030 over
4 Bolt Splayed Mains
AFR 190 Heads
11.3-11.5:1 Compression
Scat Forged crank
KB Hyperutectic pistons with 7cc valve reliefs
Eagle H-Beam rods
Comp Cams 1.52 Pro Magnum Full Roller Rocker arms
58mm BBK throtle body
SuperRam Plenum, Runners
Edelbrock Hi-Flo intake base
I will be using a Speed Pro DFI computer, if that matters.
What I need now is a cam, its about the only thing I need to complete the
engine. I am stupid when it comes to cams, as this is my first engine
build-up. Can someone help me out on a cam selection? The valve springs
will take at MOST .650 lift, and I was told that using my rockers that a
.550 lift cam would be right at the limit. I dont think anything that high
would be suitable for the EFI anyway, but like I said, I am new to this. I need this to have gobs of torque, have at least a fair idle, and be an awsome street cam. I
found this cam from SLP:
http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...RTNUMBER=51010
Will it work for me? I want to get power from 2500(3000 max)-6000 RPM. I'm looking for a peak hp of around 500 or more.
Thanks guys.
Scott
Update:
I was reading through my emails, and a guy that has helped me choose parts of this combo mentioned that a LPE 219/219 cam would serve well in my application. Here are the specs:
Engine Induction Dur @.050" Lift w/ 1.5 Lift w/ 1.6 C/L Cam
------------------------------------------------------------------------
SBC 350-420 SuperRam 219/219 .525"/.525" .560"/.560" 112 74219
From my limited knowledge, this cam looks good, can anyone verify this?

Why not check out the LPE cams since he specializes in SR engines? If that's too much $$$, find one from GMPP or Comp with a similar profile.
