Question about push-pull cables. PLEASE HELP!

This is hard to explain, i will try.. I have a 82 camaro, which has the hood louvers that go up and down, well my motor went out that opens the louvers, so I just want to manually be able to open and close the louvers from inside the car, and a 6' choke cable is PERFECT, except its about 3' too short.. I have looked everywhere, and I cant find a choke cable longer than 6'... is there any other cables that are made the same ( where you can pull and push a cable through a car ) that I dont know the name? People was telling me to get a hood latch cable, but that wouldnt work, because its a little bit too flimsy of a cable, I need to be able to push the louvers open, so a hood cable will not work. What options do I have? a choke cable is PERFECT!!! but its just too short, I wish they made 10' choke cables, what options do I have? please help, this is very hard to explain..

but those are pretty pricy arent they? On jegs, a shifter cable was like 50 bucks for 8 feet.. How much should I expect to pay for them? does anyone here have one for sale? let me know my options, i appreciate all these replys..

That is a heck of an idea about bike cables, but there wouldnt be a cable over 7 ft on a bike would there? thats a great idea, but I dont think there is cables that long, I appreaciate the response, anyone else have anything to add, im looking for that exact cable, just longer, I WISH THEY MADE A 10FT CHOKE CABLE! ahhhhh it would be perfect, with the handle and everything, but any other great ideas?

Why does it need to be so long anyway? How are you trying to route it?

I found mine (8 ft) at a local tractor supply store. You might also check at a lawn and garden supply store. Not a Wal-Mart type but a specific small-engine store.
