Help Building 350
Need some help from the experts. Building a 350 to replace 305. Is this a good set up?
350 Block casting#3970010, .30 over
ZZR roller cam, what's needed to install?
Dart Iron Eagle SS heads 2.20/1.60 67cc
Edelbrock Performer intake
Edelbrock 600 cfm carb
HO HEI distributor
Looking for a good street performer and something to beat my buddies 67 Firebird BB400. would like to run on 87/93 pump gas.
Is stroking to 383 worth it? I know I should go with a bigger carb but that's what I have now, Thanks

Did you mean ZZ4 cam? If so, forget it. Too much trouble to get it to work in the non-roller block with no corresponding rewards. Just get a good flat-tappet grind.
Any particular reason for the Edelbrock carb? No more power than your stock carb, money not well spent.
About the same for the intake. Maybe an RPM, but not a regular Performer.
I suppose you already have those things.
A few other digital details: It's 0.030" over, and 2.02" intake valves.
Whether or not it would beat your bud's '67 - depends upon what he's done to it.

Thanks for the reply, back to the drawing board. Need recommendations for the following:
Block: 350 cast#3970010 FREE (where do I go from here?)
Induction System. Carb/Intake?
Nitrous?
Cam for street use? Most rad for sensable use.
Heads: Most resonable I've found so far are the Dart Iron Eagle, 67 or 74cc cost $680 are these over kill?
Pistons? I know forged are best but I'm on a budget.
Timing Gear vs timing chain? I like the wine.
Water Pump? Edelbrock/Pro Comp high volume?
T5 transmission with Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch.
$$ Do matter so I'd like to get the biggest bang for the buck. Looking for a good solid package that can stay up with Mustangs and the lot. Thanks

If I were you and on a budget (which is somthing I know all about) I would use vortecs and a comp xe262, if you already have the performer.... sell it and get the rpm for vortec heads. If you can afford the down time, you could always use the heads off your 305 with a refresh/port job.
