Open Elemenet Installed, AIT sensor

Maybe its in my mind, maybe.. I've been raicng around all day. My box came this morning from summit with my Elderbrock Open Element. My first mod. I installed the baby, and it sounds so much louder and like a growling. Its awesome. And while their is that small 5HP gain, I sware to *** I can tell the differance. It seems to be running better. Maybe its in my mind, but I think it is faster!

On question, that AIT sensor, it is AIT right?, what do most of you do with that. I moved it over by the A/C.

When I put an open element air cleaner on mine, I cut a hole and put the AIT Sensor in the new air cleaner base and it works fine, but I understand that the farther away it is from the heat of the engine, the better it will run. I've been told it'll richen the mixture a little, usually making more power.
Over by the AC should be fine, if you don't mind it flopping around over there.

I did the same thing with my 9" x 3" open element. just bored the right size hole in the new base and put hte sensor in. Looks factory and works fine. Also no loose wires laying around.

It seems to me like it would be a good idea to put it inside the new air filter. The sensor IS there for a purpose, after all.. and while it won't make too big of a difference... I dunno, I'd just rather have it where it's supposed to be.
