OK, here goes, I have a nova that is third gen underneath. It is a speed density L98 with a T5. I am running a 730 ECM and a big cap HEI and a 6A. I was driving when my car stopped running. It restarted after 45 seconds of inconsistant cranking and I drove it to a friends. Now it wont start. Fuel is good with good pressure, however i have no spark. Ecm threw no codes. I replaced the module and coil. Still no spark. Any Ideas before I throw in the towel and take it to a shop?

Ah, Yes I am new. This site has been helpful before, But I could not fire back questions, so I joined. Any Help you guys could provide would kick, umm, yeah.

 

Ignition switch, located on the steering column maybe?? That happened to me on one of my older Camaro's.

I am using an in-dash ignition switch. I do have +12 volt keyed power at the distirbutor. Thank you for the idea.

 

Have you checked the wires going to your ignition box? You might have a bad ground.

 

Disconnect the 6A. If you stil have a no start, begin troubleshooting the ignition system. IIRC someone (Trickster?) has posted a troubleshooting chart.

 

Working on it right now. Electrical makes me cry. The shooting of the trouble has begun...

 

So long as the shooting stays there.

 

bypass the 6A box, if it works, warranty it and get a mallory like i plan to do.

Ok, the distributor crapped out because bad things only happen to me when I am 500 miles from home. The fix is in. Thanks, guys.
