how to select main bearing size

ok i'm rebuilding my shortblock first time i'm doing this, i'm trying to figure out what size main bearings and rod bearings to get, all the bearings in this motor are fine i just took it apart to replace the rings, do i get the same size bearings that came out or what?

That's about it.

You could also use a micrometer and check the crank size.

you still need to know what bearings came out of it. as far as i know all bearings are maked std. or the amount of undersize. i'd measure the main journals and crank pins and buy my bearings based on the measurements.
