Rust under gas cap....

Rust under gas cap....
Does anyone have rust under their gas cap? I don't know if it has been there the whole time. I just noticed it the other day. Is this bad? Or is there some way to clean it off? I know it's a dumb question but I just wanted to know.

I have rust on my gas cap too. I got my tank from a junk yard cause tank was leaking when I bought it so I figured the rust was from sitting at the yard for so long. I have tried to remove it, but it dont work
