MSD 6AL - ever have one die?

I having problems with ignition. I have tested the pickup and coil and they are good and I have replaced the rotor,cap and ignition module. I was timing it and the number of flashes of the timing light was slow compared to other times while at idle. It seem too be not firing each time. Can a MSD start to die and do this? What tests can I do other than to take it out of the system?

I had one die. To be more specific, it was failing intermittently.
I emailed MSD tech and they told me to send it in for repairs.
They repaired it, it's been fine since.
BTW, that was a 10+ yr old one, expired warranty. The repair cost $35 incl ship.
MSD = Good People

I agree. I sent in a 15 year old 6A and had it repaired for about $35 also.

MSD = My Spark Died lol

msd is good stuff, rarely have i encountered issues with the ignition itself, but i have had issues with coils getting weak, test your spark output on a scope if you can and you will be able to tell what the exact problem is. i have had a weak coil cause a failure in emission tests before.

If you have issues, get in touch with MSD tech service. Seriously. Their customer service, as far as I've dealt with them, has been absolutely amazing. When I TOASTED a set of wires due to my own stupidity in buying the wrong angle boots, they sent me a whole box full of spare boots and terminals for free, and they arrived in like 2 or 3 days. I knew I couldn't get wires cause it was my own fault they burned up (DIRECT contact to the headers is not good.....)...but I was glad to get the rebuild stuff for free and they were extremely nice and prompt. I've kept buying their products since.

By the way, CEP, do you have a quick connect harness? If you do it should be ridiculously easy to disable the box to test... If not....well, I'm sorry......might have to do things the hard way. Be prepared with electrical tape, or solder, or butt connectors...

But I imagine there's a quick hookup harness available for TPI cars...? Fairly popular application. I was lucky enough to be running the Ford TFI system and the pre-made harness took all of about 15 seconds to connect. Hardest part was routing the wires and mounting the box.

I don't have the quick connects, so I took it out and had the same problems, so I put it back in and it runs better. I think it was my connections getting corroded. Thanks for the responses.
