I own a stock 87 Iroc (5.7L). When I first bought it the oil pressure guage would go up a little past 30 when I started it up then after she warmed up fall back to around 30 (or a little lower). Then I decided to change the oil, I used 10W30 instead of the 5W30 (I am thinking this wasn't a smart thing to do, looking back on it), now the oil pressure goes up to the stroke below 60 and stays there until the engine has been running for a long time... whats on the go..should I change my oil???? Will this cause any damage to the engine??????

40-60 psi is where you want to see it when in motion. it should drop to 30 only at a complete stop or idle.

you're good now...that's the oil grade i use 10w30 Castrol.

Be happy... mine can drop as low as 15psi@ idle when it gets warm!
