Blue corrosion on one of my distributor cap brass terminals?

What does that mean? I would assume that is why my car has been running a little rough and poor performance lately?

When the bronze oxydizes, the corrosion is a blue-green color. The copper in the alloy turns green (patina) the iron turns red (rust), and the lead turns a grayish white. The corrosion can be accellerated by the presensce of high voltage and the resultant ozone generated in the cap. It's all pretty normal, but should be cleaned away if possible to provide the best path for a spark and no alternate paths to ground or other terminals.

Check the rubber boot and make sure its not cracked, and check the resistance of the wire, it will be anywhere from 50-3000 ohms per foot of length depending on what sorta wires you have on the car. A short tends to accelerate the problem of corrosion.

Vader, you are unreal man! LOL, anyway, the cap has been on the car for about two years. The car sees regular trips down the 1/4 mile. I am running all Accel ignition components. Accel plugs, Accel 8.8 wires, Accel Cap and Rotor, and an Accel 300 series coil (the big one). Should I just go ahead and replace it, since they aren't that expensive? I was just curious to what would have caused it to do that. I cleaned it off with my dremel and wire brush for now.

You'd need a multimeter to measure it. Those wires IIRC are at about 5-800 ohms per foot. I could be little off. If I am someone feel free to correct me.

Cleaning it up should be fine, using an electrical contact cleaner will help for the small areas you cant get to.

Take the spark plug wire off the car, set the meter to ohms, and touch the wires from the probe to each end of the spark plug wire, and that will give you a number (which is resistance in ohms). Measuring the length of the wire while its off is a good idea so you can come up with how much resistance there should be.

Just to back up madmax, the accel spiral core wires on my car were all between 1-1.5k when i ohmed them out just a few weeks ago. Strangley, my coil wire also had about 1.5k of resistance even though it is shorter than any plug wire.
To measure resistance i helped the situation by putting long screws between the metal connector and boot (from the plug side) to make it easier to measure since my probes could reach through the plug holes.
