ok well i just finished building my engine and i go to put on the power steering and the alternator and the stupid brackets arent line-ing up! i have the original alt bracket plus i ordered one from jegs that is "supposed" to fit every small block chevy but it dont. anybody know anything i can do besides fabricating my own brackets?

I feel your pain, that always happens to me when I get and engine back togather.
The best way to find out whats going on is to look at another engine, chevys brackets are nearly identical on all GM vehicals. If thats not an option start from the top, hook up the ac then work your way down. There are spacers "thick washers" on some brackets and if you work top to bottem it will give you an ideaof where they go.
