about to do some work on a lg4..all help needed

tomorrow im gonna change my timing chain set, my water pump , my valve cover gaskets , my thermostat and a couple other things.
When you pull the dampener on the front how do you put it back on?

a new front seal comes with the gasket kit should i worry about changing it?

wish me luck....this will be the first time i do this job. thanks

any tricks and tips welcome

i use an installtion tool to get the dampner back on, but a lot of people use a hammer and socket. i'd replace the crank seal since it's so easy to do and as you said you'll already have the new one in the gasket set.

I wouldn't use a hammer and a socket to put the dampner on... Ask your local engine shop or parts place if you could borrow the proper tools. The place around the corner from here does that.

Never use a hammer on a Harmonic(torsional damper) balancer.

I'd buy or borrow the installation tool. I bought one, and it wasn't that expensive as tool go.
