i just swapped in a carb motor 350 to b exact. i cant get it started. had the timing set, plugs spark. i did the sparkplug test. i know it isnt the fuel because it is getting it.maybe to much even. please help!!

Did you set the static timing correctly? The distributor could be 180° out of phase with the crank. The other possibilities are wet plugs, major vacuum leak, or no compression from tight valves.

If there is spark and fuel, you should at least be getting some backfire or afterfire once the cylinders are wet.

this may sound dumb but are there any computer controled things at all? if there is and your cars got vats that might be the problem...im not sure about this...so yeah im just throwin out a idea

well the only thing i touched when i took it out of my el camino, and it was running great, too bad the body rotted out, but the only thing i touched was the timing. i will double check the distributor but my father put it in and he is a great mechanic so i didnt second guess him, althouhg he did start a fire in my car tonight so mayb it is time to second guess him huh? it was computer controlled but i junked all of that. i dont want any emission ****. but it is all still there.
