Just found out my stock 305 has a roller cam and roller lifters is this normal?

I have had this 89 firebird formula for a while. The engine is shot so I got a 89 camaro's 305 and put it in my car. Does this 89 camaro have a roller cam and roller lifters to?

All 88 and up f bodies 305 & 350 had roller cams & lifters from the factory. The 89 motor will be a roller motor.

A cam is a "roller" because it is mated to and made for "roller" lifters. If you have roller lifters and a non-roller cam, or vice-versa, you're in trouble.

From the factory, this affected the blocks, too.

And, agree, it's '87-up in 3rd gens.
