84 Firebird TBI and you need a carburator that works with the emissions? If it is a TBI you dont have the ECM to operate the carburator. The E4ME is the correct computer carb but only one of the two ads says it is this carb, other is similar but has been to long for me to remember enough to say they are the same. Maybe you want a new throttle body?

I do have ecm, at least thats what im reading from a haynes manuel, also quote from web site talking about tbi engines
"3rdGen F-body, the 305 underwent many changes and breathed through many different types of induction processes. This capable motor started out breathing with a Rochester four barrel computer controlled carburetor , briefly flirted with a complex cross-ram throttle body injection setup, enjoyed an optional TPI tuned port fuel injection system, and finally went back to throttle body injection as it's mass produced main stay form of induction.
also i had in the shop and was told I would need a rebuild, duh!. the carbs that i found would be cheaper for me to buy then to have rebult that's why i was asking.... but if u have other recommendations that would be great too. thanks!

Put the book down and open the hood. Pull the aircleaner off, if you see two injectors with two wires on top of each one, you have TBI. If you see two smaller holes in front of two larger holes, you have a carb.
Assuming you have the original setup the car came with, post the 8th digit of the VIN.
