Car wont start...nothing working
My car wasn't wanting to start so i disconnected the battery, and replaced the starter. The old one bench tested no good..Put in the new one, bolted everything up, no lines crossed, everything back in original position. Can't won't start, no lights, not even the door light comes on, nothing!!! Battery is good, three fusible links next to distribution are good, no crossed wires, fuses are good..I have no idea wahts going on but its driving me crazy!!! Its a 1992 Formula with a TBI 305. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated....

Sounds like you didn't get the accessory power wire hooked back up to the starter/battery cable terminal when you put things back together.

There should be three or four wires that go to the main (large) terminal of the starter. This is where every thing gets it's power from. Check to make sure that you did not leave one dangling.

There's a few wires that go to the positive side of the starter too. On my car I think I have 4 wires that go to this, so I think the standard f-body should have 3. Make sure these are all hooked up. Also check connections to alternator. I don't remember how many wires connect to the positive side on there stock. Like I said, with my battery in the back, my main power connections are all different than stock.

This happened to me when I put my rebuilt starter in.
On the starter solenoid you have 3 posts. 1 is positive in, 1 is positive out to starter and 1 is ground. (you may have 4 posts, one of them will be completely unused)
Positive to starter will be connected from the solenoid to the starter by a cable. This should NOT have any other connections to it and the bolt should be tight on it.
Positive in should have the main positive running from your battery, and another positive running into your wiring harness. (this is what will drive your accessories and power the rest of your car)
Ground should only have ground on it (obviously)
I'm betting you made the same mistake as me and connected your positive out to the wiring harness to your positive out to the starter. You should have 2 cables running to 1 post and 1 cable running to the ground. the 3rd post should only have 1 cable running directly into the starter.
This stumped me for over a day before the creaky old guy at Auto zone (who is an encyclopedia of car knowledge) told me exactly what I was doing wrong.

k
The two biggest wires are on the same post and the smallest wire is connected to the ground. I tested all the fusible links and there's nothing wrong. There is no juice going to the fuse box inside and I have no idea wherelse to look. I dont know if it would have anything to do with the Pass-Key theft device...its just like the computer shut down the whole car so that nothing else will work. Its the weirdest thing ive seen yet.

I've never seen a ground wire on a Chevy starter.
But, I haven't seen everything, I suppose.

Should be pos. battery cable and 2 fusible links on large post.
Small starter wire on small post. Never seen a ground on the starter either.
Start at the battery and check the voltage. Check the voltage at starter where the wires bolt on. Check the voltage on the other side of the fusible links after the starter. If you have juice there you should have juice to the headlights, etc.
