I think im gonna need some help from people

Ok so on my car stock 170 horse 88 firebired formula 5.0 tbi. MSD ignition, exausht from headers back, k&n Filter, **** i hate it when i forget whats on the car but liek i expect it to be from 220-240 horses. When i get home i will update this to show what i really have cause i am missing liek 2-3 things all bolt ons. Besides a new motor is there any way i can increase horses. i was reading about port and polishing the intake, since its TBI they have this new intake that can increase air flow that would result in more horse power they said somewhere with the port and polish of the intake and that little conversion kit it should about 35-40, and i figured as long as i am doing that i might as well toss on a ram air and see where ti goes. my issue isdoes this sound about right, is my calculations of the horse power i have now about right, with a car that just blew a trans should i even consider putting more horses on the car for the sake of the new trans and an aging motor. plus if anyone has a tbi and has done this how much did it run.

Car: 89' Iroc-Z G92
Engine: TPI 305 G92
Transmission: T-5
Axle/Gears: Limited 9 bolt, 3.45
put on a better set of heads, 081's/416's maybe with a 1.94 intake valve ported and polished, new baseplate, would be good starters, then maybe a cam. Could wake that motor up just a little

Whichever direction you may be going with it, I'd suggest a solidly built transmission before any other changes.
