Engine Seized Up???
wow, ok... check this out....I pulled the starter and right away i noticed a crack running down the starter case. As i examined it i noticed both sides of the starter case had cracks running down them. I figured that the starter was just cheap. I became a little concerned because someone told me the reason why that happened is because my engine is seized up. I never had any sign of my engine going, and i always tune up the car. The car never smokes.
I pulled out the #1 plug and took off the belt, and tried turning the crank by hand. It turns but is very hard,i can probally rotate the crank shaft completely. As it turns i hit an easy spot, from having the 1 plug out, then it gets hard to turn again. But if i can turn the crank by hand, can the engine still be seized?
What do you guys think??? Thanks....Al in NJ

No i doubt that it is seized up, you woulndt be able to turn it by hand at all. It is normal for it to be hard to turn by hand. I would just replaced the starter
