roller cam vs. big flat tappet cam

Well I got my engine from the shop the other day. Found out that they lost my cam, lifters, retainers, lifter baffle, timing set up, etc. More than likely, I will be the one paying for it. The engine is an oem roller motor. Question is: should I go with a smaller hydraulic roller or a large hydraulic flat tappet? Which one will give more HP? Engine is for street use, needs vacuum. Money is a factor.

Roller will give more power, but flat is much cheaper.

The good news is you might be able to find used factory roller parts. With a flat tappet cam you'd be stuck buying new lifters.
