Ok let's see how creative you guys really are....I need some big time help

I installed my Super Ram yesterday and the rear of the plenum is hitting the wiper motor. Most guys say you can just flip the motor mounts and that pulls it close enough to the firewall to clear, but mine isn't even close. I removed the wiper mounts altogether and that wasn't even enough. I'm still off by like a half inch!!! There are only two ideas I can come up with and one of them I don't really like at all. I could always remove the plenum and grind some material off the back, but there's always that chance I'll hit daylight. The second idea I had was to see if there were any other GM wiper motors that wouldn't stick out as far. Any other ideas would be more than greatly appreciated.

Getting there.....383 with Super Ram, Bosch 24# SVO's, MSD, Edelbrock 58 mm TB, 700R4 tranny, Eibach springs, Koni 12 way adjustable shocks and struts, and more!! Now let's pray it runs when it's all back together!!!!

I remember reading that someone on this board solved the problem by finding a wiper motor from a junkyard gm car that fit better. I had no clearance issues with the superram though. Im guessing your car is 88+?

I remember seeing that all serpentine cars have had trouble with it. The motor may be different in v-belt setups, you should check that out. I think it might just be moved over a little, though..

I've no experience with the SR, nor how much clearance you need...but I wonder if your tranny mount is sagging? That'd lay the engine back some.

Sorry I forgot to mention all of my mounts are new polygraphite pieces.

There are a couple of different styles of wiper motors, and they are considerably different in shape and size and the direction that things stick out of them. Just go to the junkyard and look at a bunch of cars, and find which style will fit your situation.
