Engine: 588 Alcohol BBC
Transmission: Powerglide
Axle/Gears: Ford 9"/31 spline spool/4.86
A casting number will give you the range of years the block was used in.
There should be a casting date on driver side rear of block on flange forward of bellhousing. Something like A124
A= Jan
12= Day
4 = 1964, 1974, 1984 etc.
Get the block prefix code. It's on the machine pad in front of the passenger side cylinder head. It will be something like T0112CML
T is the assembly plant (Tonawanda)
01 = Jan
12 = Day
The last 3 letters will tell you what year and type of car the engine came out of.
