Plate under oil pan

I have a plate under my oil pan and wonder if others have it under theirs. The first I've looked under my car to change the transmission fluid & gasket I was surprise to see but can become an issue when the 350 engine is swapped in.

¿Plate?

The only thing that should be under there is the K-member, which will be under the front half of the pan. The steering linkage is right in front of that, and the exhaust Y-pipe is right behind it. The K-member is basically the "frame" of the car, with the engine sitting on it, and the front suspension attached to it.
