Broken TPS Sensor

When I las rebuilt my carb, I accidentally broke the pin on the throttle position sensor. The sensor is still in the carb, and its plugged in, so no error code. But since the pin is broken, it will not push down when i press the gas and it will always read as if the engine is at idle. The engine runs fine, so what could this hurt? Is it worth tearing the carb apart and replacing?

What you are experiencing is a perfect example of how stupid early CCCS computers are. It's hard to say exactly what your computer is doing thinking the throttle is closed constantly, i guess the worst part is that at WOT it will stay in closed loop *attempting* to correct to 14.7:1, but since the primaries don't affect WOT at all in a qjet (practically anyway, verifed w/ several back to back runs adjusting MCS travel, no clear effects going rich or lean) i guess it won't hurt you much.
If you can verify it does get closed loop (monitor the O2 sensor output on a DVMand look for cross counts) and it's not giving you any driveability issues then screw it. If you're not getting closed loop and it is actually defaulting to PE mode then you are most likely fouling you combustion chambers up pretty bad, as well as getting a lot worse gas mileage than you could be.

I'm just saying, it's in your best interest to make sure it is getting closed loop. 15 wouldn't be a bad city number, but unless you have really steep gears highway should be into the 20s. Also, the combustion chamber/piston tops get all carboned up if it doens't catch closed loop.
But WOT, like i said, i doubt it makes a difference.
