Manley
I did some searching and could not verify if Manley makes or ever did make camshafts.
I bought a 89 vette motor just for the heads, well when I pulled the rocker covers off I was surprised to fing Crane aluminium roller rockers.
I dug deeper into the motor to find out it has been bored .030 over. The engine threw a rod and damaged the cam with it. I just wanted to pull the cam out to see if it was aftermarket because why would you go through all the trouble of rebuilding the engine, Porting heads and upgrading the rockers to leave the stock cam in. Well I pulled of the balancer then the timing chain cover, to find a brand new Manley double roller timing chain. Then I pulled the cam.
On close inspection I found Manley printed on the snout of the cam along with two numbers.
17331
and
900915.
My question is did manley ever make a cam because I could not find any on their site or any performance distributor. I would like to find the specs on the cam to give me an idea what all was done to this motor and if the cam was a good match for the heads, so I can use a similar one in a future build with these heads.
If anyone could help me out it would greatly appriciated.

I'd forget about that cam...and concentrate on what's needed for your intended build...unless ofcourse it's a toll free number and you have an inquiring mind....unless you know the history of the engine and how it ran/behaved...what's the point?

Because I know this motor was a screamer. I was in the camaro it was in. It put lots of LT1's to shame.

Then shouldn't the previous owner know the details? If you were in the car, ya must have known him/her...could have saved yourself a few days of waiting to know.
