Tech write-up, LT1 Intake/ Gen1 SBC
Here it is, I've been busy all week and finally got time to write and upload.

383 Speed-O-Motive Crate Engine, Raptor 700R4 Tranmission, Trick Flow Twisted Wedge G2's, 58mm Accel TB, 3.73 Auburn Pro, SLP Cold Air Induction and Headers, Hooker Cat-back, Serpentine Belt Setup, Dual IROC Fans, Jamex springs, 16" IROC Rims, 36mm/24mm Sway Bars, Global West Steering Brace. Hotchkis Rear LCA's,Panhard Bar and SFC's.

Great write up John. Question though: Do you think the LT1 intake was worth it or not?

Worth it or not? Well, that's a subjective question and it will get a subective answer. I think it was worth it because I wanted a higher breathing engine. The stock TPI was chocking my 383 to death. A SuperRam would've kept me my low end touque and a MiniRam wouldn't have been easier but both are $1000+. I want to improve my 1/4 mile times and this will do it no problem. Sure I lost a little low end but more then made up for it at the top. besides, I had too much torque anyway.

Why use a gen 1 350 SBC? Why not use the newer ones so it'll bolt right up? I'm probably being nieve, but I dont know much about blocks and castings and there must be -some- practical purpose to this...

Also, what if you already have a Gen1 SBC in the car and it's built up like mine? Why change a good motor if it runs great?
