I have an 89 formula. When i bought it a year ago the automatic latch worked great, but it has recently stopped working. My guess is that one of my friends or brothers slammed it w/o knowing. What can I do? If i get it fixed how much should i look on spending?

You can find used ones from $40 to $60. They will go shot on there own. Mine did, deader than a hammer. I took it apart and the brushes had disengraded.

 

Sometimes the relay will go out on them too.
