I recently removed the 700-R4 from my 84 Trans Am. Now I can't move the shifter through its range of motion. It was fine when the trans was still in-now its seized up or something. I need to figure this out pronto because the car goes Friday to the transmission shop to have the new tranny installed. BTW, I went into the console and removed the cable on the right side from its peg on the shifter. I can move the shifter with the cable off, but not with it on. Whats the problem? Thanks.
