C4 IRS?

how hard would it be to mount a C4 IRS outbck of a 3rd gen. I know you would have to make a subframe to mount the housing. How would you go about measuring to square this up. What else would be of concern?

WHY swap it??? Lots of work I would guess. it would be cool I guess

which one wrer you looking for?
Dana 36 or 44?

36s came stock with 2.59, 2.73, or 3.07

44s came with 3.54(rare), 3.45, 3.07, or 3.33

Dana gearsets for the 44 avail. are 3.73, 4.10, 4.30, and a few numerically higher.

Hope that helps

Do a search for IRS on the suspension forum. There is a company that has already done it. You could call them and ask questions.

LBC,

It's been done. Subframe connectors are a must. There is a lot of fabrication to be done at the rear body, and the stock exhaust location will not work well. The fuel tank will fit, but barely.

Search the archives for more threads, but it's been a while since I've seen the topic. You might want to check the Suspension Board.
