You DO mean hatch release, right? The push button is on the right side of the dash, above the radio and heater controls and directly below the center AC outlets:



The release mechanism itself is located at the rear of the cargo well, and is part of the latch mechanism. The solenoid release and pull-down motor are hidden by the plastic trim at the cargo well.
