ZZ4 Camshaft and heads
can a ZZ4 Camshaft be installed in a L98 with stock heads w/o problems?
If not what needs to take place so that they will?
here's what I bought:
3. ZZ4 roller cam 7500 miles exc cond, will throw in ZZ4 take out springs, lightweight retainers, and some cheap Proform stamped roller tip rockers in 1.5 ratio. $75 **SOLD

Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
Check the retainer to guide/seal clearance. You'll want at least .570" on the exhaust and .535" on the intake.
The press-in rocker studs have been known to pull out with lift in the .5" range. There isn't any easy solution without pulling the heads.
Were you planning on using the Proform rockers? Also need to make sure you have adequate slot to stud clearance, stock rockers may not have enough.

yes, I'm going to switch to the aluminium rockers.
So basically using those springs ect and cutting the guides it'll work?

You may not need to cut the guides. However, cutting them to install positive-sealing type seals typically provides both a superior valve stem seal, and adequate clearance for higher lift cams.

i have looked every were for information on what kind of stuff to use to build a l98 heads to work with a zz4 cam(that is brand new) would some one recomend springs,ect so i could just buy them and take the head to go get worked on?
