Pic of my dizzy while my cap was off ... what do you guys do when the dizzy looks like this ? Except for the "get a brand new distributor" answer

It is just a little surface corrosion. You can clean it off with some emmery paper or a soft wire brush.

may be fine after a brushing. a day after i bought my car, the dizzy locked up because that part fell apart jamming itself. due to rust

so

basically some sandpaper and finish off with a very light coat of oil ? ... that's how I did it after taking the pic ... was wondering if there's anything esle to be done *lol*

because I'm sticking with stock ignition... no Accel or Taylor wires or anything .... Borg-Warner cap, rotor and wires.. and Champion copper plugs .... why get "better" whe nI can't justify it

I think MSD makes a kit you can use to upgrade the stock dist for like $50. My dist looks the same as the one in the pic, I'm gonna upgrade it with that kit instead of buying a new one.

i got my oe replacement for 70 i think. ebay. then the ignition module was bad so the guy was nice enough to give us $30's back. ill try to get his stores name. are u talking about getting a stock replacement or aftermarket?

I don't even wash my car that much right now.. since I worry more about it running ... lol

Better have a dirty car passing folks on the highway ... than a neat shiny waxed car in the slow lane .. towed by a towing truck ...

haha agreed. i dont wash mine often. it looks worse when the dirts not covering up all the chips behind the wheels... when i get some paint she'll be washed all the time...

Although .. it is claimed that a car that's washed and waxed may get as much as 7 percent better gas mileage *lol*
