Engine: 358 in the roc 305 in the rs
Transmission: 700's
oil pressure sender

how will it affect the car (88 iroc tpi 358) if the sender down on the driver side is not plugged in.

You will have no fuel pump relay backup and your oil pressure gauge will not work.

It's not a sender it's a switch, your oil gauge will still work because the oil sending unit is up top next to the distributor.

The oil sender/switch combo didn't come out until 91', or so.

I relocated mine, but as you can see, there are two sensors.

Previous owner of my brother's 89' IROCZ must have changed it, guess he didn't like replacing 2 sensors when only one-half of it is failing. As long as the fuel pump relay is working, neither one is critical.

makes sense, cuz the rear of the block is just plugged from factory. and thats an easy port for a sender/sensor.
