MY CAR IS VIBRATING...HELP PLEASE!!!!!

I was driving home from school, and i stopped at work to pick up my check. When i came out of work, when i started it it was vibrating like hell. Its a manual transmission and i know the clutch needs adjusted, but i got it home and reset the computer and all, still does it. Also i noticed that its blowing a little black smoke out of the pipes. I dont think its missing because all the plugs are new and shes idling fine, just vibrates but its at normal rpms. ANY CLUES????

Not to be a jerk, but....

Rule #1 of problems that occur right after you work on something: you screwed something up in the process. Go back and retrace your steps. I'd bet any amount of money that have a plug wire that has come off, or is touching the exhaust and has burnt through (driver's side, #3 & #5 are the first I'd check), or something like that.

Black smoke out the pipes = unburend fuel = a miss. Shaking = a miss. Check your ignition system thoroughly.

Rule #0 of life in general:

The thing was that i didn't work on it, it was fine for a long time then out of nowhere.
I found the problem anyways, spark plug wire 6 melted on my exhaust manafold and was sparking. I had to wait till nightfall to find that one. Thanx though.

hey man, I don't know if you know this but your clutch is hydraulic, so it self-adjusts(unless it was made before '85). just FYI. if it needs adjustment then that probably means it's just going bad

if the tranny whines when it is in neutral with the clutch out the bearings on the mainshaft of your tranny are prolly bad. they make noise when they get loose and wore out.
