What belt drive system is this?

It's not v belt or serpintine.
It's called a Gilmer drive kit and the belt is 1.5" wide and looks like a buldozer track inside out. The pulleys are keyed to suit and I want to know what are the pros & cons of such a system? I went to buy some alloy pulleys and came away with this setup but need to know whether I should take this back & exchange it?

It's used for dry-sump oil systems and similar applications.

What are you really asking?

those are very expensive and are usualy only used for big superchargers so the belt doesnt slip

So theres no advantage over a v belt system? If thats the case I'll take it back and go for the cheaper option.
I still would like to know what you call this system?
