350 TPI high oil pressure but runs fine???

Hey guys!
just got my new 92 Z and I love it except that the oil pressure gauge goes up pretty hihg... about 3/4 of the way high! Now the engine is throwing a code so I think it'll be somethin simple, maybe a MAF problem ro something? car is in need of a good tuneup.
well anyways... any of you want to take a stab at what might be causing the oil pressure to be so sporadic? car is in good condition and has about 100 000 miles on it.

thanks again
garett

The guage should go up that high, higher at higher rpms. It should fluxuate a bit. Check the code, the front page of thirdgen.org will show you how.

Just so you know, your MAF and oil pressure are completely unrelated.

A good rule of thumb is 10psi per 1000rpms.

3/4 of the way on the oil pressure gauge is 45 PSI, and that is perfectly normal.

You dont have a MAF on a 92 Z28, its speed density.

Do the tune-up stuff as shown in the tech article "Suggested mods for thirdgen TPI cars" and you should be in better shape.
