Oil Pressure Drop at the Track.

My oil pressure HOT is usually 25 idle and 55 highway. Well I knoticed this at the dyno and at the track today. First gear take off oil pressure is pegged at 60

Shift into 2nd and its at 60 still then starts to come down as RPMS rise 55-45-35-30 then shift into 3rd and wham back up to 60-55-50-45 and once the run is over everything is normal again. I have a stock replacement melling pump and stock replacement pan. Any clues? This is going by the stock sending unit and Firebird Guage. Mobil 1 10w-30 and K&N Filter Used.

verify oil pressure with mechanical gauge The stock units are typically notoriously wrong.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Pretty much the same problem here. I just ordered a new Moroso anti-cavitational oil pump and a new Moroso 6 Qt. pan. I'm currently using a Melling pump, same as you. Wonder if that's the common denominator? I'll post back when mines done, probably next Monday or Tuesday.
