need firing order for 69-80 350

need firing order for 69-80 350

does any 1 have the firing order? i found 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 .also need a gap size. heads say they are a 74-80 whats the best gap for them?

This is correct firing order for a 69-80 350 with a vacuum advance HEI distributor(non computer controlled).Best all around gap for a stock ignition or even with a hotter coil is .045".Really any gap between .035" and .045" will be ok.You may notice a difference if you have a weak coil and try to run a large gap such as .045",should run smaller gap such as .035"

1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 since 1955.

Early HEI said .060" plug gap. .045" is probably better, though. A hotter ignition can jump a bigger spark, so start at .045" and experiment with larger gaps .005" at a time.
