Adjusting the minimum air?
Adjusting the minimum air?
My car has been idling really rough and stalling when warm. I have searched the boards and seems that the IAC and TPS should be adjusted. So I read the tech article on the IAC adjustment and when I remove the connector and crank the engine the idle is very racy, the needle on the tach will bob up and down between 750-1250 very quickly and continuously. How do I get it to idle smooth to get an accurate reading. I have read the article several times and belive I am doing this right. Please help.
Thanks,
Tony

Remove the throttle body and clean and lubricate the throttle blades and IAC passages and pintle. Then reinstall and adjust the IAC and then TPS.
Are you able to retrieve any codes from the computer? You may have another problem, an idle like that could indicate a vacuum leak. Is the engine speed actually moving from 750-1250, or just the tach? Check those codes.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but the engine and the tach both are going up and down. Also the engine gives me the 32 and 44 codes. I don't know why the 32 code comes up, the egr was recently replaced. Could it be a vacuum leak causing those codes?
