I got a really bad lifter or rocker tapping I know it's on the drivers side other than that I cant tell what it its. I had a problem recently when the teeth on my timing gear rounded off causing improper valve timing. Could I have hurt something cranking with the valve timing wrong? It runs awesome I mean absolutely awesome but the tapping is horrid at anything other than cruse speeds with the radio on. I also went from 10w30 to 5w30 synthetic could the lesser weight done it?


EDIT: I Just changed my oil back to 10w30 and problem is still there and did not quiet it any.

 

Piston could have smacked a valve when timing went off and bent a pushrod or something but its probably just a lifter crapped out on you.
