replacing fuel tank/fixing a leak in an '89 RS
I have a leak and can't pass inspection, the leak is coming from the top where you can't see. I have been told that you have to remove the exhaust as well as the rear differential...is this true? I can see the exhaust having to come out, but the rear end? It could possibly be a sending unit but I won't know till I drop the tank. Anyone have experience in doing this? Thanks!

As far as I know - rear does have to come out - the tank is above it. There's really not that much to it - disconnect drive shaft (at rear), disconnect panhard bar, lower control arms, and shocks. That's all that holds it in. I've not taken the tank out before, but I did a rear swap - it's awkward do to the weight (get a helper), but not hard. Make sure you don't let drive shaft come out of tranny, or you'll lose all the fluid.
