HELP!! I need to hit 13's in a non mass air 350-TPI, what do i do???
i just picked up a mechanical cream puff...an 87 Formula 350, auto, 4 wheel disc brakes(WS6?), 104k miles, adult owned, BONE STOCK, $1700...anyway,
i want to hit the 13 second mark in the 1/4 with no internal work and street tires...what can i do?? i figured all the free-mods would be nice, a/c delete, smog delete, weight reduction(remove rear seats/bumper support/etc),
anyone out there have a car similar to what i want? how'd you do it? i basically want to do this with as little money as possible.

Or, if you want to drop a little more money, with a full exhaust, some suspention work, gears, improved cam, etc. it should be able to dip into the 13's without much trouble
EDIT: BTW, a full interior (sans front seats) only weighs in at around 125 lbs., so theres not much weight to be saved there. Most of the things youd remove take most of their weight off the rear wheels, which isnt what you want.

I doubt youll do it without internal engine mods, you could always throw some nos at it which will get you there but your motors not going to last long.

thanks guys, keep the advice coming...as for the mechanical condition, it runs great, the 2 owners before me never beat it...one was a mechanic's wife and the last an older indian guy. the motor and trans still pull hard as hell. my dad's 25th anniversary Z is near low 13's with only full bolt ons and a cam, so i know it's easy to do...but i can't afford the slp runners and ****, too pricey

Full length headers, two 3" cutouts on your collectors, one on each, have the trans done up to the nuts (or at least a shift kit), get a cold air intake on it too... the cooler the air, the better.
Thats a start anyway...

Well,if your cars an 87 model then you should DEFINITELY have a MAF unless someones been messing with it.Could have been converted over to SD.Just look toward the back of the plenum on the passenger side for the MAP sensor.
